Wedding Videography at The Compleat Angler, Marlow, Buckinghamshire

A couple have a tender moment together at the Compleat Angler, Marlow, Buckignhamshire. With the iconic Marlow backdrop behind them.

Wedding Videography at The Compleat Angler, Marlow, Buckinghamshire brings about wedding films with a backdrop unlike anywhere else. Totally unique and unforgettable!

TL;DR – Love on the Thames in 5 Quick Points

  • Chloe & Ryan’s riverside wedding was full of heart, fun, and personal touches (including a rare UK “first look”).
  • The Compleat Angler in Marlow offers a killer mix of riverside views, historic charm, and perfect light.
  • We captured cinematic shots on boats, bridges, and with smoke bombs (yes, it was as fun as it sounds).
  • Two confetti moments? Yes please.

Love on the Banks of the Thames – A Wedding Videographer’s Take

As a Buckinghamshire-based wedding videographer, I get to work at some seriously cool venues. But there’s just something about The Compleat Angler in Marlow. Maybe it’s the riverside views, maybe it’s the historic bridge… or maybe it’s the vibe – relaxed but classy, timeless but never stuffy.

In August 2023, I had the pleasure of filming Chloe & Ryan’s wedding here, and again for Abbie and Dan in August 2024. Both of those days reminds you why this job is the best in the world.

A Personal Touch: First Look by the Weir

First looks aren’t that common over here in the UK (usually it’s the bride and her dad), but Chloe & Ryan decided to do it their way. And it was unreal.

They met by the weir before the ceremony, had a quiet moment to themselves, and honestly – it was emotional, chilled, and helped calm the nerves. It’s your day, so whether you want to see each other before the aisle or keep it traditional, I’m all in. I’ll film it in a way that feels like you.

Riverside Ceremonies Don’t Get Better Than This

The ceremony setup at The Compleat Angler? Unreal. Right next to the River Thames with Marlow Bridge and All Saints Church in the background. Both couples opted for a riverside ceremony. Sun was shining, guests were buzzing, and the Grooms stood waiting for their Bride at the water’s edge. It couldn’t have been more cinematic if we’d tried.

After the vows? Confetti, cheers, and a boat ride down the Thames. When they got back, they went for a second confetti run – double the fun, double the footage.

Making the Most of the Location

This venue gives you so many options for epic couple shots. We used the boat, the bridge, the riverbank – even stopped traffic on Marlow Bridge for that money shot (worth it).

Me and the photographers I worked with on these days, Richard Puncheon and Gemma Randall, made a great team on the day, bouncing ideas off each other and keeping it fun and relaxed for the couple. Add in some smoke bombs, golden hour, and creative lighting after dark, and we had some absolute bangers for their wedding film.

Why I Love Wedding Videography at The Compleat Angler

  • It’s scenic as hell – water, architecture, and proper English charm.
  • It flows well logistically – loads of space to move, no awkward bottlenecks.
  • Light is always on your side – whether it’s sunny or cloudy, it works beautifully on camera.
  • Great staff and planning team – always smooth behind the scenes, which helps me focus on capturing your day.

FAQs About Wedding Videography

Do I really wedding videography for my Compleat Angler Wedding?

Only if you want to actually see and hear the moments again. Photos are great – but film captures vows, laughs, speeches, your partner’s reaction… all the stuff that moves.

What’s included in a wedding videography package?

At HC Visuals, I offer a few different options – from highlight films to full-day coverage with ceremony and speech edits. I’ll walk you through it all and tailor it to your vibe. No fluff, just good storytelling.

How long is a wedding video?

A typical highlight film runs around 4–6 minutes, but you can also get longer edits (like a 20–30 min feature) depending on your package. I always make sure it flows well and tells your story properly – no dragging.

Can we meet before the wedding?

Absolutely. I like to keep things personal. We’ll have a chat (Zoom or in person) to get to know each other and make sure we’re on the same page.

How long does it take to get the film?

Around 6–10 weeks depending on the season. I’ll keep you updated throughout and send a teaser film within a week or two so you’ve got something to relive straight away.
